Chris D’Arcy, Chair, KBRH Health Foundation, (right) passes the official construction hammer to Hil-Tech’s Darren Schleppe, Project Manager (middle) and Jack Ferraro, Site Superintendent. The Children’s Healthcare Initiative, funded by the KBRH Health Foundation and the Regional Hospital District, is a $1.9 million renovation of paediatrics and maternity at KBRH. And it's on its way!! October 13, 2009, post: So much has happened! The contract has been awarded and the news is just great! Hil Tech has won the contract! Hil Tech is a local company, and this means that there will be 30 to 35 jobs created by our project. What a win for families!

July 28, 2009, post: Deconstruction is well on its way. It is hard to recognize the old pediatrics wing now! The 4th floor is undergoing preparations for a $1.9 million renovation funded by the foundation and the Regional Hospital District. The maternity and pediatric departments will be modernized to reflect the caring, current and compassionate practice of our healthcare providers. The invitation to tender for construction was issued on Monday, July 20. The tender closes August 13 at 2 p.m. Stay tuned for updates!
