Donor Dollars and Tax dollars

Donor dollars and tax dollars have always been the funding sources for healthcare in Canada. Since the very beginning of organized medicine, our healthcare system has needed both. So, despite that very strong myth, tax dollars have never by themselves funded healthcare; donors have always supported Canadian healthcare.

Our deeply generous individual donors, service clubs, corporations and foundations, those who share our conviction of the importance of quality healthcare, give to us in many ways. Our donors give and pledge money, stocks, time and energy. They include us in their financial planning monthly, annually, and finally. They support us through service and with gifts of toys and equipment. They hold events for us, fundraise for us, and show us everyday how much they appreciate the hard work of the employees of KBRH.

We steward those hard earned and won dollars and match them with those that the tax system allocates to health care. Those donor and tax dollars work together to give us better services right here in the Kootenay Boundary.
